About Sarver Children’s Farm

Sarver Children’s Farm is named as such in recognition and thanks of Charlie and Margy Sarver. Charlie and his wife Margy have been instrumental in the development and success of Lockwood Park through their generous donation of time, talent, and the use of their land and resources to benefit Lockwood Park. Unfortunately, Margy passed away unexpectedly in November 2021.

Meet the Children’s Farm Animals

Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup

Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup are female, Moscovy ducks that arrived at the Sarver Children’s Farm in August of 2023. Moscovy are native to Mexico and South America, but have colonies set up in Florida as well.

Jackson and S’mores

Jackson and S’mores are Nigerian Dwarf goats that were born in March of 2023.   A male goat is called a buck or a billy goat. Jackson and S’mores are still growing but will only reach 19-20 inches at full height.

Lenny & Moose

Lentil, or Lenny for short, is a Juliana Pig and is the pink one. Moose, the darker one, is a Pot Belly Pig.

Moose is very shy. Both pigs are males, also called boars, and were born in 2019.

Lenny and Moose like to cuddle up next to each other when they sleep.

Lucy

Lucy is a female, white lop rabbit. She is pretty shy, but likes to explore the Trailside Centre lobby. Her favorite treats are apples and fresh grass!

Moon

Moon is a female, Holstein cow that was born on Mother’s Day in 2017.

She used to be a dairy cow, but she retired when she came to Lockwood Park in 2021.

Moon knows how to be led on a halter and enjoys getting scratched and brushed. She is used for Agricultural Education and Camps.

Smokey & Gabriel

Smokey and Gabriel are Oberhasli goats. Gabriel is the goat with the longer tail that curls and Smokey is the one with a darker face. They were born in March of 2019 and are very friendly. They love to climb and have cloven hooves which make them very good climbers.

Zorro

Zorro is a male, Hereford and Simmental cross steer that was born in the spring of 2020.

He is being trained to be an Ox, which is how most farm work was done before we had large machines.

Zorro enjoys hanging out with his best friends Moon and George!
